The Best Way to Eliminate Dark Circles Under Your Eyes

January 13th, 2021

Often, people struggle with finding a way to eliminate the dark circles under their eyes. If you’ve found that no matter how many hours of sleep you get, how much water you drink or how many concealers you’ve tried, these circles are still noticeable, then consider getting fillers. The unfortunate truth is that dark circles are typically genetic and have more to do with the composition of your skin and the way light reflects off the orbital bone. So, sometimes, a stronger solution is necessary!

The Best Way to Eliminate Dark Circles Under Your Eyes

Why do some people get worse dark circles than others?

“Dark circles” is a broad term used to describe a variety of cosmetic concerns around the eyes. These circles are affected by a variety of factors, one of the main ones being genetics. Often, individuals are born with less under-eye fat, resulting in an indent usually referred to as a tear trough hollow. Some people have hollower dents than others, making the appearance of dark circles more prominent. Other common reasons include sun exposure, allergies, dehydration and sleep.

How does the treatment work?

The treatment is simple! We pick a filler that works for you, based on factors including your skin tone. Once we numb the area, we inject the filler below the skin, under your eyes to make the area fuller. It only takes approximately 30 minutes to complete the treatment, experiencing very minimal to no pain throughout. Each eye is injected with 3-5 needles of filler and massaged carefully after the injection to smooth out the area and make sure the filler is distributed evenly.

How to Prepare for the Treatment

When you schedule your first appointment, make sure you remember to avoid alcohol and blood thinners such as Aspirin for at least a few days before you come in.

Post-Treatment

The area under your eyes may be slightly bruised or red for a day or two, but you can easily calm the redness down by applying ice on top. It’s recommended to avoid high-intensity physical activity for at least 24 hours after the injections have been administered.

How long do the results last?

Each filler is different, however results typically last approximately 9 months to a little over a year.
