Latisse Eyelash Treatment

January 12th, 2021

Many people, especially women, desire to have thicker and longer eyelashes. Eyelashes are important because they draw attention and accentuate the eyes for a beautiful look.

Latisse is a revolutionary eyelash treatment that enhances the length and appearance of your eyelashes. Latisse eyelash treatments are now available at Dr. Boulos Medical Spa! This eyelash treatment can provide you with long, dark, full lashes.

Latisse Eyelash Treatment

What is Latisse?

In 2008, the FDA approved Latisse for the treatment of hypotrichosis, the medical term for eyelashes that are lacking in quantity or quality. Latisse is the first and only prescription treatment approved by the FDA for thin or sparse eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker. It’s a once-a-day treatment that works gradually and effectively.

Benefits of Latisse

Results from this treatment begin to appear in as little as 4 weeks, but usually take 16 weeks to be fully achieved. Benefits of this remarkable product include:

  • Enhancing upper eyelashes by making them grow darker, thicker, and longer
  • Providing a simple alternative to mascara, false eyelashes, or eyelash extensions
  • Alleviating concerns about eyelashes smudging or running from swimming, exercise, or even tears

How Does Latisse Work?

You apply Latisse by dabbing it on the upper lash line each night with the sterile applicators supplied. Latisse will spread to your lower lash line automatically as you blink.

Latisse grows eyelashes in two ways

  1. By increasing the length of the eyelash growth phase
  2. By increasing the number of eyelashes in this growth phase

Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of the growth phase.

The Results

As the treatment continues, you’ll begin to see changes in length. Gradually, you’ll notice more thickness and darkness in your lashes. If you’re satisfied with your results by week 8, don’t stop there. Stick with the treatment. After week 16, you’ll see the full effect of Latisse.
