Facial Rejuvenation with the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment

April 26th, 2019|

There’s no feeling like the one you get when you can happily look in the mirror at your beautiful, young looking skin. Clear skin boosts confidence and self-esteem, allowing you to go on happily with your day. That’s why there’s so many treatments available! A classic skin regimen that’s proven to always be a success is the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment.

What is the Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment?

This technique is non-surgical as it entails drawing the patient’s own blood and separating out the protein and growth-factor-rich plasma from the sample, which is then used on the patient’s body or face for anti-inflammatory purposes and to promote skin rejuvenation. PRP will stimulate the growth of healthy new tissue and collagen. At Dr. Boulos Medical Spa, we use PRP Kits made in Switzerland by Regen lab.

PRP Treats:

  • Hair loss
  • Dark circles and puffiness under eyes
  • Fine lines and sagging around mouth, cheeks and eyes
  • Skin tone
  • Acne scars
  • Wrinkles
  • + more!

What to Expect During the Treatment

Before beginning the treatment, we will numb the patients skin. Once they’re comfortable, we draw blood, which may cause some dizziness or light headedness at first, only for a few minutes. The PRP solution will then be separated from the blood and inserted into a microneedling pen, which will be glided slowly across the surface of the patient’s skin. Using the pen, the skin will be penetrated to the dermis level in order to stimulate collagen production and skin rejuvenation.

Post Treatment

After the treatment, you may feel a slight irritation. Facial redness may last for 1-3 days, but will significantly decrease within 24 hours. Typically, patients get 3 or more treatments in order to be fully satisfied with their skin tone. Results will show within 1- 2 weeks.
