What is Coolsculpting?

Coolsculpting is a clinically proven, non-invasive way to reduce unwanted fat under the chin and to contour the neck. The procedure doesn’t involve any anesthesia, needles or incisions. Using a handheld device, subcutaneous fats are targeted, frozen and eliminated by the cooling process, without damaging any surrounding tissues such as nerves, skin and muscle.

How to Prepare for the Coolsculpting Treatment

Before you schedule your first session, make sure you’re close to your ideal weight. Coolsculpting isn’t a weight loss procedure, so by working out, eating healthy and losing weight if you need to, it will be easier to target the desired fat cells in order to achieve the preferred final result. Bruising is a common side effect of the procedure, so make sure you avoid taking anti-inflammatories such as aspirin at least a week before your session.

Coolsculpting Your Chin

Once the area is numbed, a gel pad will be placed on your chin and then the handheld device will be moved around the targeted area to suction the fat while administering the cooling technology. You’ll likely feel some pulling, tingling, stinging or pinching throughout the procedure, however, most of the time its minimal and unnoticeable. Once this is complete, Dr. Boulos will massage the area to separate any frozen deep tissue so that your body can begin to absorb the destroyed fat cells.

The procedure for under the chin typically takes 35 minutes to 1 hour. There’s no downtime, so patients can immediately return to their normal daily activities including work and exercise.

Results

You will notice a difference within about 3 weeks prior to the procedure, however the final result will appear after approximately 2 to 3 months.  For these results to be permanent for a long period of time, you have to continually maintain a healthy lifestyle. Exercise regularly and eat healthy!
