It’s easy for your skin to achieve a youthful glow with chemical peels. One of the most commonly used skin remedies is the renowned Jessner peel, a medium-depth peel that heals mild to severe skin damage. This treatment is stronger than most chemical peels. It contains 3 main ingredients: lactic acid (to exfoliate the skin), salicylic acid (to penetrate the skin), and resorcinol (to treat acne). Here’s how the Jessner peel will allow you to achieve flawless skin.

How it Works
The Jessner peel works by exfoliating the outer layers of the skin to remove dead skin cells and reveal the smoother, even skin tone beneath. Once treated, you should expect natural peeling to begin several days later.
This treatment starts by cleansing the skin thoroughly, then applying 2-5 coats of the peel. At the end of the treatment, a lightweight moisturizer or calming mask will be applied to your skin. The treatment can be repeated if desired, but usually, patients only require one session.
The Jessner peel can also be used as a superficial peel, which has a faster healing time but needs to be performed more often to get the best results.
Post-Treatment Expectations
At first, your skin will be extremely sensitive and you’ll likely experience dry, tight skin with mild redness. For approximately a week, your skin will peel and turn from a pink shade to a shade of brown. Once the damaged skin peels off, it will reveal smooth, glowing skin.
At home VS administered by a Doctor
Store-bought peels wont penetrate the skin as deeply as it would if it were administered by a doctor. They’re superficial peels that are less expensive than the professional peel. They have a faster recovery time but are not as effective and don’t provide you with the same benefits. Also, if you apply it incorrectly, you risk over-irritating the skin and causing further damage.
Board-certified practitioners will provide you with longer-lasting, better results. This peel is harsher on the skin, which is why we recommend for it to be administered my someone who’s qualified so that you’re less likely to experience any side effects.
